The Condado de Alhama Golf Society was formed in 2010 to provide discounted golf, friendly competitions and a social focal point for golfers who own, or long-term rent, on the Condado de Alhama Golf Resort.
This page contains important links and information for members of the Society.
Master Scoreboard
The MasterScoreboard system contains everything you need to know to keep you up to date with your and your fellow members’ golf in the Condado de Alhama Golf Society.
It lets you know your current handicap, your past results, your hole by hole statistics, overall competition results, competition calendar and more.
Most importantly, it allows you to book tee times for upcoming competitions.

Temporary Poor Fairway Condition Rule Clarification
It has become apparent that the temporary ‘pick and place’ ruling for poor fairway course conditions needs to be clarified as it is being used to gain unfair advantage.
The full ruling can be found on the Local Rules page but, as quick clarification:
Society pick and place ruling. (normal conditions)
A Player may, if he or she prefers, mark the ball, pick, clean and replace within 6 inches, (a card length) no nearer the hole. No penalty applies.
This only applies if the ball is on the fairway or the fringe of green (closely mown area).
The ball must remain on similar ground conditions. i.e. the ball cannot be moved from the fringe onto the green.
As a temporary measure this ruling has been extended to any grass area (the 6 inch rule applies).
Temporary Society pick and place ruling for poor GRASS conditions.
This ruling is in place to avoid damage to the golf course and allow a player relief from a poorly GRASSED area. i.e if there is an extended area with little or no grass which would normally be defined as ground under repair (GUR), not any grass in the rough pan areas.
In these conditions the player may, if he or she prefers, extend the drop area to one club length from the nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole. Without penalty.
The ball must remain on similar ground conditions, fairway or rough.
Players should not look to gain unfair advantage by using this ruling.
If the surface is well grassed then this ruling should NOT be applied.
This temporary ruling does not apply if a players ball has finished on a well maintained, closely cut grassed area of the golf course, such as the approach area to the green.
Please respect the rules of fairness and competitive advantage.
Handicap Management
The society uses ‘Handicap Master’ (HCM) software to manage all aspects of the society including competition planning, members contact details, historic data and handicap management.
When they first join the society members are provided with a link to the booking system ‘Master Scoreboard’ to book tee time slots in advance.
Handicap management.
The society has configured HCM to manage members handicaps as per the World Handicap System (WHS) but with a Handicap Index limit of 28 (this is subject to slope).
Members handicaps will be maintained by the society after initial Index is set up, handicaps will be calculated as follows: The average of the best 8 of the last 20 scores in handicap qualifying competitions, in the society data base.
The society reserves the right to carry out an assessment of members handicaps on an annual basis or if members are returning excessively high stableford scores.
Members are expected to advise the society of any changes in their home club WHS Index.
Members handicap set up.
A member’s handicap is managed by the ‘best 8 of 20’ rule or can be changed if proof of WHS change at a player home club is provided.
If a new member provides proof of a current WHS home club Index this will be used by the society as an initial handicap. However, this will be ‘frozen’ until 3 cards from qualifying competitions have been submitted. The players Handicap will then be assessed by the Handicap Secretary and will then be adjusted if required then ‘thawed’ to allow the member to compete in competitions.
New members who do not have a current WHS handicap will be given an initial handicap of 0.1 to allow them to book into competitions. This will be ‘Frozen’ until 3 cards have been submitted, signed by a member of the society.
On completion of 3 qualifying rounds the members handicap will be assessed by the Handicap secretary and an initial handicap allocated to the member, the handicap will be ‘thawed’ to allow the member to compete in competitions.
New members can play in a competition but cannot compete for prizes until a handicap has been established.
Guests
Whilst the purpose of the Society is to look after the interests of its members and they will always have priority in all competition bookings, we acknowledge that, on the very odd occasion, members will want to invite guests to play in Society competitions.
Any request for a guest to play in a Society competition must be made in advance by emailing the Competition Secretary at comp@cdagolfsociety.com
The request will only be sanctioned by the Competition Secretary once entries into the competition has been closed to members and a free space confirmed available. The Competition Secretary will try to ensure the member and their guest play together in the competition but this cannot be guaranteed.
The guest will be expected to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Society, as laid out in this website, and responsibility for this adherence will lie with the requesting member.
Guests will be able to enjoy the social side of the competition day but will not be able to compete for prizes in the competition.
Guests will not be allowed to enter any of the Society’s majors or annual competitions, such as the Condado Cup.
